• Truancy (Failure to attend school)
• Excused / non-excused absence disputes
• School policy

Typically cases in this program, if unresolved in mediation, will be referred back to the school or court of continuing jurisdiction.

Most cases mediated in this program are referred to the DRC by schools or Justice of the Peace Courts.

Mediations are scheduled through each independent school or court and conducted on the school campus during the day. A parent or legal guardian MUST accompany all minor children.

To request a mediation, please contact your local school’s attendance officer or administrator.

The DRC provides these services in English and Spanish.
