JOB TITLE: Senior Finance Manager
DEPARTMENT: Community Services
HOURS: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday
SALARY: Will Be Discussed In Departmental Interview
Based on 26 Pay Periods
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or other business related field is required.
EXPERIENCE: Must have a minimum of five (5) years of professional experience working with internal controls, financial reporting, and budgeting. Previous senior level management experience is required.
JOB SKILLS: A valid driver’s license is required. A working knowledge of “Generally Accepted Accounting Principles” (GAAP). Must be capable of interpreting federal regulations pertaining to administered programs. Requires good written, oral, communication, analytical, and managerial skills. Must be able to work effectively with others. Must have strong planning skills, be focused, organized and results oriented. Must have advanced skills and ability to utilize computer technology to access, analyze, interpret, consolidate and report financial and management information. Must be able to work efficiently under pressure, establish and maintain quality control over assignments.
JOB DESCRIPTION: Directly/indirectly manages up to four (4) subordinate managers/supervisors and up to 20 accounting and clerical employees in program budgeting; financial monitoring/reporting; administrative accounting, administrative budgeting & payroll sections of the Finance Division. Works closely with the department director and division directors and other assistant directors and managers to advise and establish policies, procedures, internal controls, and overall direction, coordination and evaluation of accounting units assigned. Approves accounting transactions and completes computer-related transactions that have supervisory control. Plans daily, short and long range plans and activities for staff and junior managers. Maintains/shares oversight of program budgets that provide control of expenditures. Assists with the annual administrative budget process. Responds to requests for information. Assists in planning and directing the long term direction of financial monitoring unit. Establishes/maintains various accounting systems. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Is attentive to needs of staff/ Prioritizes workloads to ensure efficient and effective delivery of services. Interviews, hires, and trains employees. Plans, assigns and directs work. Appraises performance. Rewards and disciplines employees; addresses complaints and resolves problems. Performs other job related duties as assigned.
