JOB TITLE:               Grants Programmatic Compliance Monitor                        

 

DEPARTMENT:       Management Services

                                    Office of Budget Management

 

HOURS:                     8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. / Monday - Friday

 

SALARY:                   Commensurate With Experience

                                    Based on 26 Pay Periods

 

EDUCATION: A Bachelor’s degree is required. A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or Urban Planning is preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE:  Some experience in managing and/or operating a renewable state or federal grant program with a wide range of activities, including sub-contracts and reporting responsibilities is desired.  Preference will be given to those applicants with HUD grants experience.  Candidates with experience in the disciplines of quality assurance, quality control and statistical process control will also be considered.

 

JOB SKILLS:  Good oral, written, and organizational skills are required.  Proficiency in various PC-based software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access is required.  Must possess a working knowledge of various federal/state regulations pertaining to and the reporting/compliance requirements associated with each particular type of grant.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION: Monitors grants for compliance with governing agreements, as well as county objectives and fiscal effectiveness.  Conducts on-site reviews to determine grant performance and compliance.  Interprets complex federal and state regulations, contracts, planning documents, maps, and construction drawings.  Gathers and interprets data, applies knowledge of statistical methods, conducts surveys, prepares reports and determines area demographic data.  Makes management presentations and properly initiates and manages multiple on-going projects independently with minimal supervision.  Works well in a team, as well as to conduct independent research and makes proposals for improved organizational effectiveness. Communicates and interacts well with various county departments, federal/state agencies, grantors, grantees, and sub-recipients.  Position requires commitment to public service.
