JOB TITLE:               Operator – Sign Shop

 

DEPARTMENT:       Precinct One – Northside and Southside

                                    (Location Will Be Discussed During Interview)

 

HOURS:                     7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

                                    Monday - Friday

 

SALARY:                   Starting $10.00 Per Hour

                                    Based on 26 Pay Periods

 

 

EDUCATION:  High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is preferred, not required.

 

EXPERIENCE:  Minimum six (6) months light construction or maintenance experience.

 

JOB SKILLS: Basic knowledge of hand tools, equipment, materials and procedures is required to perform tasks.  Must be able to follow written and oral instructions, work well with others, and have a safe driving record. Will be required to obtain a Texas Commercial Driver's License, Class A within 3 months of hire date.  Agility is necessary to perform strenuous tasks under varying weather conditions.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:  Assists with the production of traffic signs; cuts, applies and bakes scotchlite to sign blanks.  Paints and stripes crosswalks, other street markings on country roads and parking lots on county property.  Designs and fabricates special order signs.  Installs and maintains traffic, street signs and barricades.  Operates a variety of equipment, including sign machine, whacker machine for sign installation, power plant for electrical field use and stripping machines.  Drives trucks, performs routine daily maintenance to assigned equipment and performs related tasks as assigned.

 

EMPLOYMENT IS CONTINGENT ON PASSING A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK.

 

POSITION IS SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS.
