Welcome to Harris County’s website for updates and information on the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009. The Recovery Act represents a strategic investment by the Federal Government to stimulate our nation’s economy, to save and create jobs, and to lay the foundation for an economic recovery. 

A significant portion of the $787 billion included in the Recovery Act will be made available to state and local governments in the form of grants. Harris County is actively pursuing many different ARRA grants and is committed to providing full accountability and transparency while utilizing these funds in the most responsible and effective manner possible. To that end, this site is designed to inform county residents and other interested parties of which grants we have applied for, which grants have been awarded, how much money has been received and is being spent, and what has been accomplished.
