Our commitment to protecting the public interest is demonstrated not only by the everyday counsel and advice we provide but also by special projects and reviews we have conducted including:
• A seminar for Harris County elected officials concerning Financial Statements that must be filed.
• A review of the Port of Houston Authority;
• A class for the senior staff of the Harris County Toll Road Authority about their ethical obligations;
• Participating in training of county employees concerning the ethical use of county equipment and technology;
• An ongoing review of the operations and procedures of the Harris County Constables concerning charitable activities, campaign activities, and contract deputy deployment.
• Participating in the reform of the Harris County Financial Services Division which included implementation of new policies concerning investments and the retention of special counsel for the issuance of public debt, and the recovery of $1.4 million for Harris County from outside counsel and brokerage firms.
• An ongoing review of Public Health and Environmental Services Veterinary Public Health to ensure compliance with the law.
