In 1983 John Biggers was asked by the Commissioners of Harris County,
in the City of Houston, to create a mural honoring Christia V. Adair, one of Houston's most important civil rights leaders. Located at Christia V. Adair Park,
on a pavilion screen with a gently curving freestanding wall and two 90-degree side panels. The mural employs tribal design as an inspirational theme.
