What is the
Harris County Precinct One
Seniors Program? The program’s mission is to enhance the well-being, good health
and basic quality of life for all seniors living in Harris
County Precinct One. Whether it’s working out at one of our many
community centers' exercise sites, taking a computer class,
participating in the writing and drama program, or attending a
holiday program, you’ll find a fun, fulfilling environment
designed just for you. There are also many monthly “extras” at
each center such as birthday celebrations, important health
topic information and scheduled day trips. Take a look at the web
pages and links for more information about the programs we offer
or better yet, give us a call at a community center near you and
let us help you find the perfect diversion.

Getting Attention:
The Drama Program
The Seniors
Drama Program under the
direction of Thomas Meloncon
uses performing arts to raise awareness of critical issues
affecting senior citizens. The program provides acting and dance
lessons for seniors, and more than one participant has
discovered amazing hidden talents. Seniors participate as actors
and understudies as well as set and costume designers. |

A Chance to
Grow:
The Garden Program
Houston’s climate means most
of us can enjoy the sights and smells of a productive garden
throughout the year. Our Garden
Program offers all types of instruction and is
perfect for both the gardening novice and those
with the greenest of thumbs. |

year-long Drama Productions that are presented in
tribute to historical commemorative personalities
and events. If you are looking for a good dose of
