In Service Classroom Rules. Monthly Notice.

IN SERVICE CLASSROOM RULES 1) Class Attendance: No absences will be permitted unless excused by the Training Coordinator or Captain of the deputies Division. Tardiness or leaving early will not be tolerated. 2) Weapons: Peace officers shall carry their weapons according to department policy. No civilian (CHL) will be allowed to carry a weapon in classroom. 3) Dress: Dress will be for a professional environment. Department uniform or appropriate civilian attire will be worn. No shorts, Flip flop, sandals, t-shirts or tank tops will be worn. 4) Academics: All Examinations are property of the department. No grades are published. The instructor of the course will advise each class of the grading criteria (written/ practical) for each particular class. All grades are pass/fail. 5)Conduct: Professional demeanor is expected. Disruptive, rude or disrespectful conduct will not be tolerated. 6)Electronic Devices: Cell phones will be turned off or put on silent. Cell phone calls will be made or received on class breaks only except for emergency. Laptops will be allowed for course related material only, not for personal use. 7) Reading material (unless incorporated into the class) is Prohibited while class is in session. 8) Profanity: Students shall not use profane, vulgar or obscene language in the classroom. 9) Orderliness: Students will be responsible for maintaining a neat and orderly classroom. 10) Complaints: All complaints and concerns will be addressed accordingly, beginning with the instructor of the class, training division Sergeant, and then Training coordinator. 11) Illness: Illness or injury to any student during class will be reported to the instructor immediately. VIOLATION OF ANY OF THESE RULES MAY BE CAUSE FOR DISMISSAL FROM THE CLASS THE STUDENT IS CURRENTLY ATTENDING.

Traffic Control (Direction)Class

March 10th 7am-830am 1302 Preston 5th Floor Classroom Traffic Control (Direction) This Class is to give officers instruction on how to Direct Traffic to keep the flow of traffic smooth around the City of Houston. It is also a required class for officers who work traffic jobs OFF DUTY (in the City of Houston) by City of Houston ordinance Chapter 45 Article XVII ordinance# 2004-798. To be in compliance with this ordinance, Officers must take this class before directing traffic OFF DUTY in the City of Houston. 1 hour TCLEOSE credit will be given along with a Traffic Compliance card to be carried when an officers is working Traffic Direction Jobs in the City of Houston. Course#3181 State and Federal Law Update

Location: 1302 Preston, 5th Floor Training Room Houston, TX 77002 Pre-requisites: Law Enforcement Employees Time: 800am-10am or 12pm-2pm The goal of this course is to provide law enforcement officers with an update of recently statute changes and addition provided by the 81st Legislature. Recent Supreme Court decisions that impact important issues such as search and seizure, detention, etc., were also included in this curriculum as these cases may impact the function, policy, and procedures of law enforcement officers and law enforcement administration.
