Our agency also investigates environmental crimes within Harris County. Our investigators respond to tips from citizens, neighborhood complaints and self initiated field investigations.
Receiving the most recent federal and state training, our deputies are meeting this ever-growing challenge by arresting persons for illegal dumping and polluting Harris County’s water and air quality.

The deputies and their partners will canvas county buildings including the court system which has a high probability of being a target for terrorists.
Through this measure, we hope to protect the county, its employees and the public from being victims of terrorism.
To answer the growing threat of foreign and domestic terrorism, Precinct One with the assistance of Commissioner’s Court has implemented the County’s first K-9 Bomb Detection Units.

Deputies from several divisions incorporate Precinct One’s Motorcycle Division. The deputies have received additional training and are certified to operate a motorcycle for police purposes.
The Motorcycle Detail performs many duties including dignitary escorts, parades, fun runs and traffic control at special events with Harris County.

At this time we have scheduled the Mandatory 40 Class for the first half of 2009. This class includes 3232/3939 Civil Process Update and Report Writing. The class will be held at 1302 Preston in the fifth floor classroom on the following dates:
January 26th-29th
February 23rd-27th
March 23rd-27th
April 20th-24th
June 15th-19th
July 13th - 17th, CLASS FULL.
Class hours are from 7:00 AM until 4:00 PM with one hour for lunch.
