Victor Trevino immigrated to the United States in 1958. He attended area public schools and he graduated from Austin High School in 1970.  He graduated from the Houston Police Academy in 1976 and he served 13 years as a Houston Police Officer.  

He continued his education by attending San Jacinto Junior College and he later received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Houston - Downtown. 

In furthering his law enforcement career, Victor was elected as Harris County Constable of Precinct 6 in 1988.  He has entered his 20^th year of service as Constable, a post he has been elected to five consecutive times.  He is licensed as a Master Peace Officer.

Constable Trevino and his wife Silvia were married in June 1972 and they have three children. The two are very proud of their family: Carolyn and her husband Michael with their beautiful children Michael David and Christopher Aaron; Victor Trevino, III, who recently graduated from the University of Houston; and Thomas and his wife Cristina with their lovely children Thomas Ray and Isaiah Gianni.  

Silvia recently retired from the Houston Police Department where she served twenty years as a Peace Officer.  She is now a Lieutenant with Harris County Precinct 7.

Constable Victor Trevino is committed to providing top-notch services to the community. It began many years ago as young assistance coach for his brother’s little league team, then serving as a religious-class teacher, and as a Houston Police officer serving as a community-service officer for many years.

As Constable of Precinct 6, he is credited with: 

• Creating the first Parole Violators Task Force (Zebra Squad) in the State of Texas.
• Founding the Absent Student Assistance Project (A.S.A.P.) for reducing truancy.
• Starting the first Precinct 6 Police In-Service Training Program.
• Starting the first deputy contract patrol program in Precinct 6.
• Ensuring that our senior citizens are not been forgotten by visiting with them on a monthly basis to celebrate their birthdays and thanking them for their contributions, delivering flowers to them during Mother’s Day, and instituting the Annual “Young at Heart” Christmas Seniors Gala, which provides over 2000 seniors with a pleasurable afternoon of entertainment and food at the George R. Brown Convention Centers.
• Providing our youth with volunteers and funding including a basketball league with the various housing developments, various youth sports teams, the Boys Scouts and many other youth organization.
• Continuing to visit various schools to encourage our youth to continue their educations and always respect their families.   
• Developing the Community Liaison/ CB PATROL or STREET CRIMES INVESTIGATIVE TEAM (SCIT) Program that allows civilian liaisons to be supplied with police radios to communicate directly with deputies on the street. They look out for suspicious activity within Precinct 6 such as suspicious persons and vehicles. Suspicious activities are directly reported to the deputies that are on patrol.
• Expanding the reserve deputy concept by bringing in more officers to provide a wide array of services. They work to fight crime and assist in community initiatives such as church functions, civic events and community activities. All this is a savings to the tax payer well over one-million dollars a year. These reserve deputies are certified peace officers in the State of Texas.
• Yearly, along with his wife Silvia, they opened the doors to their home for hundreds in celebration of National Night Out. This partnership has helped to reduce crime and improve the quality of life in the community. The event is a perfect way of promoting civic pride and bringing neighbors together.
• Hosting a live weekly community service television program - "The Victor Trevino Show" on WTP-TV (We the People) Channel 17 every Wednesday, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The show provides a forum for community members to participate by calling the show with questions or comments. His wife Silvia and grandson Thomas Ray Trevino are part of the production team.
