The mission of the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences Identification Unit (ID Unit) is to identify all decedents received by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences (HCIFS), and to reunite these decedents with their families. To that end, the HCIFS is making descriptions of all unidentified decedents available to the public.

Listed on this website are links to Unidentified Decedent Fliers constructed by the HCIFS. The links are arranged by date the decedent was received by the HCIFS. The age, race, stature (height) and other descriptors are estimated using pathologic, anthropologic, and dental findings. Possible matches should not be eliminated based on strict comparison with the estimates provide.
