Mobile Data Terminal Services ( MDT's )   

 

 

The Mobile Data Terminals used by Harris County law enforcement agencies and qualified law enforcement agencies aid them in the performance of their official duties.  By utilizing the Zclient interface software, installed on various types of laptop computers connected via Vehicle Radio Modems or aircards, officers are able to check Drivers Licenses, Identification cards, License Plates, Guns and Articles through NCIC, TCIC, and SETCIC databases. The System offers unit-to-unit messaging between Harris County MDT users and other agencies MDT users , including all Houston Police Department MDC units.

 

Harris County offers GPS tracking of all MDT units with Trimble GPS equipment installed.

 

Secured VPN Wireless High Speed Broadband access to the Harris County MDT system is currently available through the Verizon Wireless Network , ATT wireless  & Sprint wireless.

 

   Harris County uses Netmotion 8.5 secured VPN software to provide Advanced Authentication for all MDT
