RECORDS MANAGEMENT & ARCHIVES
Harris County Commissioners Court established the Records Management Program in 1990 to facilitate efficient records management and to assist county departments comply with the Local Government Records Act. Participation is mandatory by departments with appointed heads and is voluntary by elected officials.
The Records Management Plan, last amended by Commissioners Court in 2002, sets county policies for records retention and diposition and clarifies the duties of officials and employees.
